Investigation Into Kwikset® SmartKey Locks

Summary of Investigation: Welcome to the webpage maintained by Miller Shah LLP for its investigation of SmartKey locks made by Kwikset®. Specifically, Miller Shah is investigating the security of the SmartKey locks and their vulnerability to being opened with wires, screwdrivers, or other items inserted in the keyway. Miller Shah is also investigating security and product defect issues related to the SmartKey lock’s failure to open properly after a consumer re-keys the lock pursuant to the instruction manual (e.g., neither the old nor new key work to open the lock).
